Hello and welcome! My name is Sebastian, I go by the tag Pinkbud and entered the melee scene as a Berlin based player in early 2022. Some of you might already know me as the TO of the Berlin quarterly Pause tournaments, for my inolvement in other German tournament bangers like Kornspeicher and Sapf or from 3AM ranked sessions - ggs. I got into modding controllers for myself and the local community pretty quickly, first very simple mods like shell or button swaps, to more complicated projects like paracords, phob conversions, custom buttons or painted shells. By now, I have built around 30 phob controllers, made dozens of button sets and paracords and had many opportunities to refine the techniques I want to offer here. However, there are many modifications and customisations I can not yet comfortably market. These include: Notches, Detailed Shell painting, Mouseclick anything, Snapback Capacitors and more. At the bottom of this page there is a list of people and places I would like to thank for teaching me everything I know about controllers and will link to their websites/shops/socials if applicable. I can not recommend enough that you take some time and browse through their content. Thanks to them, getting into this craft is more accessible and exciting than ever.

How to order
To order a controller, individual parts or to send in your own Controller for me to mod, please use the order forms below and you will receive an automated Email with the details. Within 48 hours I will send you an invoice listing all the items from your order. Once you confirm that the invoice is correct and payment is received, I will start working on your order which, depending on complexity and volume, will take between 1 day (i.e. parts only, Unmodded OEM) and a week (i.e. Phob, Paracord) to finish. Once finished, you will receive the DHL tracking number via Email.
If you want to order items from multiple different forms, please fill out all the according forms. For example if you want to send me your own controller to turn into a Phob but also want 2 additional phob boards to try building them yourself, fill out the mail in controller order form and the parts only order form. These orders will automatically be combined into a single invoice for final confirmation and you will only have to pay shipping once.

New in Box Nintendo Gamecube Controller 2018 Smash Bros. Ultimate Edition Black (Japanese Import)
Phob 2.0.5. Motherboard Replacement (Firmware Version 0.29)
From the official Github: PhobGCC is an open-source Gamecube controller motherboard aiming to make an accessible and consistent controller. The key feature is the use of hall effect sensors instead of potentiometers, which eliminates a wear item. Additonally, it features notch calibration, digital snapback filtering, button remapping, and various trigger configurations. This mod replaces the original PCB (printed circuit board/motherboard) of a Controller for a community designed PhobGCC PCB (The newest Version 2.0.5.). This mod only changes the internals of a Controller and is not visible without opening the shell. Removed and discarded from the original Controller: 4 Stick Potentiometers Motherboard, C-stick board ribbon cable. Reused in the PhobGCC: Controller Cable, 2 Stickboxes, 2 Trigger Potentiometers, 2 Trigger Pedals, Z Button, Rumble Motor Added to the Motherboard: 4 Magnetholder + Magnets (D1H1), 6Pin C-Stick board ribbon cable The (in)famous Magnets: OEM Nintendo Controllers read the analog stick signals through potentiometers that depend on a metal spring flexing and relaxing in a plastic casing. This natural source of wear is the weakest link in Original Gamecube Controllers concerning longevity. Over time, this material degradation will make the stick inputs change from normal behavior to feeling off but still playable, to virtually unusable for smash. The rate at which this happens is dependant on many factors, mainly age of the controller and intensity of use. While the Stickbox itself (not the Stickcap, but the mechanism underneath) does degrade over time and will become less stiff, in most cases, stickboxes long outlast potentiometers. For the PhobGCC mod, you get rid of the Stick potentiometers for good and replace them with hall effect sensors and magnets that are glued to the stickbox where the potentiometers sat before. The stick position is read without any of the parts touching/rubbing against each other since the magnet sits a couple millimeters above the sensor and therefore is not subject to wear. This does not mean you will never have to worry about your sticks ever again. Depending on how much you play and how well you take care of them, your stickboxes will need to be replaced eventually but most people get at least a couple of years out of their stickboxes, mamy even much longer. The sticks have to be calibrated before use and occasionally after using it for a while. To protect the stickbox mechanism, only a minimal amount of super glue is used to install the magnets so if the controller is subject to hits, drops, tosses etc. their position might change very slightly but enough to impact the accuracy. This will be noticeble by off values in Smashscope and the Sticks will need to be recalibrated. Guides on how to do this are at the end of the document. Sometimes, mostly after drops, it can even happen that one or more magnets fall off completely and have to be glued back on. You can do this yourself, just be very careful with the amount of glue you use and refer to the guides. If you do not feel comfortable doing this yourself, you can always send me your controller and I will put them back on for free. If you don´t have a triwing or just aren´t comfortable opening a controller, it might be worth the 2 way shipping to you.
